Therapy isn’t supposed to be comfortable. It’s supposed to help you grow.
Meet Dr. A.
I’m Dr. Izette Aragon, (or better known to my patients as Dr. A.) an LCSW and LPCC in California, and an LCSW in Texas, and Colorado.
I have a Doctorate in Social Work and an MBA—because in addition to being a therapist, I believe in building things that matter.
I specialize in complex trauma, grief, and high-stakes emotional work—helping people process the things that feel impossible to face. The things that don’t just go away with time.
If you’ve been carrying old wounds that still show up in new ways, I help you finally work through them.
If you’ve been through loss, death, or life-altering trauma, I help you process it, without sugarcoating or toxic positivity.
If you’re sick of just coping and ready to actually change, I help you get there.
This isn’t easy work. But it’s the work that actually changes lives.
If you’re looking for someone who will tiptoe around the hard stuff, I’m not your therapist. If you’re looking for someone who will help you discover your truth, even when it’s hard to hear—while helping you actually do something with it— we’ll probably work well together.
I use evidence based approaches that actually help rewire your brain and shift your patterns:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – So your thoughts don’t control you.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) – For deep trauma healing.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) – For emotional regulation that actually works.
Gotman Method – A practical approach to couples issues.
I don’t want you in therapy forever.
A good therapist helps you to not need them. The goal is for you to learn how to navigate life differently, so you don’t have to sit in therapy for years on end. If you want to do more exploratory work (that's different) we can do that too!

Therapy isn’t the only place where these conversations happen. On Instagram, I’m The Misfit Therapist—sharing real, unfiltered takes on mental health (minus the fluff). It’s where I talk about the things we all struggle with but don’t always say out loud. Let’s connect—follow along on Instagram or Facebook!
Is Therapy With Me Right for You?
I’m not the therapist for everyone. But if you’re reading this and thinking, “This is exactly what I need,”
